The Mmrantehene ( youth Chief ) of Debibi in the Tain District of the Bono Region, Nana Ababio Alexander has vowed to continue to assist people in the area especially the youth in order to become useful citizens in future. He said, when youth in particularly are assisted, it would go a long way to make Ghana a better place to live devoid of social vices.
Nana Ababio Alexander explained to this paper in an exclusive interview that he sees great sports potentials in the youth at Debibi and its environs and if properly nurtured benefit the entire nation. In line with this, he said, mini stadium is being constructing at Debibi for which 88 percent is so far completed.
He said, 3.2 billion old cedis would be spent on the project out of which 1.4 billion has spent so far. On Agricultural, he told this paper that, the area is predominantly farmers and that he has been given them farming inputs and financial assistance in order to inspire them to cultivate more.
He reiterated that no community or nation can develop in an absent of proper and quality education. With regard to this, he said, numbers of students are being catered for at both secondary and tertiary levels at his own cost.
He explained that, currently three are at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, two at University of Ghana, three at University for Development Studies, one at University of Energy and Renewable Science, Sunyani, two at University of Cape Coast, two at University of Education, four at various Colleges of Education, five at nursing training colleges, four at Valley View University and number of SHS students being supported. He further told this paper that, he assured the people of Debibi when he was enstooled as the Mmrantehene that he would assist in constructing Debibi Methodist JHS which he has honored his promised and work is steadily going on.
He said, some youth too in the area has been assisted a lot to get jobs in major cities in the country. Nana Ababio Alexander added his voice to the pertaining issues in the ruling party, NPP. He disclosed that the campaign now should be pointed on what the government has able to achieve within the five years instead of who is succeeding President Akufo Addo.
According to him, campaigning who is succeeding President Akufo- Addo is rather bringing divisiveness among the party faithfuls which would spell doom for the party in 2024 general elections. He said, breaking the 8 mantra of the party calls for commitment, unity and above all hardworking. He urged the supporters of the party to rally behind any flagbearer the party chooses for the sake of victory and development.Story by Charles Ampong
