The New Trust Newspaper has gathered that, there was a great joy after the official commissioned of a 44 seater ultra-modern toilet facility plus 20 –apartment washrooms for the residents of Krofrom East Electoral Area within the Kumasi Metropolis.
The construction of a 44-seater toilet facility and 20-apartment washrooms which was done under Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) agreement was executed by Opamango construction firm led by Mr.Francis Yeboah.
The facility under the initiative of the hard working Assembly member of the area,Hon.Patrick Kwame Frimpong started on 4th August,2021 and the contractor managed to complete the work within three(3) months.

The Kontihene for Old Tafo traditional area, Nana Nuamah Tiboa officially cut the tape to commission the facility for public use.The short but colorful ceremony was graced by Manhyia north NPP executives, residents, traditional and religious leaders
In his welcome address, Hon Patrick Kwame Frimpong said his people have gone through a lot of challenges as far public place of convenience was concerned and he taught it prudence to lobby for a modern facility to replace the old one.He commended KMA ,the contractor, unit committee members, nananom and the residents of the area for their support in making his dream a reality.
Hon.Frimpong said the 44-seater toilet facility replaces dilapidated public lavatory which was constructed over 70 years ago and has undergone several maintenance .He acknowledged the efforts of his predecessors for renovating public lavatory during their tenure of office.He said following a number of consultation the assembly(KMA) saw the need to put up a new and a befitting facility as a substitution by partnering with a private developer as part of government’s Public Private Partnership policy hence the beautify edifice .

The Deputy Coordinating Director for KMA,Madam Yorke Naboo who deputized for Hon.Samuel Pyne, the Mayor of Kumasi,,Mr.Kwaku Agyei ,the 2nd Vice chairman of Manhyia North who represented the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia North,Hon.Akwasi Konadu among other speakers statement centered on the need for all stakeholders to help protect and maintain the facility to last long for their own good.They urged residents of the electoral area to make good use of the toilet facility as well as the washrooms.

The CEO of Opamanso construction firm, thanked the assembly member and KMA for the confidence reposed in him to implement the project.He said his outfit was ever ready to support more such initiatives across the Metropolis when the duty call on them.He also stressed the need for all residents especially the users of the facility to maintain it at all times.Story by a news desk report
