Archbishop Emeritus Professor Daniel Yinkah Sarfo ,the immediate past Anglican bishop of Kumasi, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Royal Television (RTV) and Six (6) top Pastors in Ghana, have been honoured at a colorful award ceremony held at Liberty Global Christian Church(LGCC) auditorium, Tafo Adompon, Kumasi.
The first honorary doctorate degree award ceremony was under the spiritual supervision of Archbishop Prof.Prince Hampel in conjunction with Teach,Train and Send Theological Seminary, Savanna Georgia and BC Graham Theological Seminary, Columbia Alabama,USA.
The award ceremony was in two folds; while Archbishop Yinkah Sarfo was honoured with AYEKOO for his positive impact on humanity, many Bishops leaders and the society other awardees were awarded with honorary doctorate degree in divinity awards.
Archbishop Yinkah Ssrfo who was a metropolitan archbishop since September 2012, and Archbishop Primate of the Church of the Province of West Africa, since 13 March 2014 until 3 March 2019 was decorated with customized Kente cloth and given a plaque. His wife,Mrs.Mary Sarfo who shared tears of joy at the ceremony was also decorated with Kente cloth.
The other awardees include; Mr.Amankwah Agyemang,CEO of Royal Television(RTV),Bishop Christopher Twumasi Ankrah,Bishop Stephen Owusu Agyemang.The rest are Rev.Daniel Kwabena Amponsah,Bishop Clement Asare Frimpong and Hon. Joy Joycelyn Andoh.
The recipients of honorary degrees in divinity were all present to be decorated and conferred with honorary doctorate degree by Prof. Cheristerlyn Brooks from BC Graham Theological Seminary, Columbia Albama-USA.
Earlier, Bishop Dr.Prince Hagan read the profile of awardees and Bishop Dr.Richard Ayiku assisted them in wearing academic gowns.The awardees were given two (2) certificates from the 2 great institutions which conferred the honorary degrees.
The special guest of honor for the occasion was Nana Adusei Atwenewah Ampem 1,Tepamanhene.The paramount chief who couldn’t make it personally to the award ceremony was represented by Nana Kwadwo Nsiah and other chiefs.
The paramount chief of Tepa traditional council in a statement congratulated Archbishop Daniel Yinkah Sarfo and other awardees.
He challenged them not to relent in their efforts in contributing their quota towards society and their churches. He also cautioned them against pride and all acts that have tendency to bring the good name of the Lord into disrepute.
Nana Atwenewah Ampem advised all believers to continue to stand firm in their faith and learn from Archbishop Yinkah Sarfo’s dedicated and committed service to God and mankind. He appealed to Christians, especially pastors to be submissive, humble and faithful in all their endeavors. Tepamanhene entreated the youth in the country to take lesson from the elderly in all their endeavour.
Archbishop Prof.Prince Hampel also heaps praises on Archbishop Emeritus Daniel Yinkah Ssrfo for his sacrificial service in the kingdom business. He described him as a good role model to all Pastors and future church leaders.
Archbishop Emeritus Daniel Yinkah Sarfo expresses his profound gratitude to Archbishop Prince Hampel and his church for the honour done him and his wife. Hon. Joy Joycelyn Andoh on behalf of other awardees thanked the organizers of the awards for recognizing their contribution to the society.She said the award would encourage and challenged them to do more for their communities.
