EUROGET DE-INVEST (EDI) CLARIFICATION ON MEDIA REPORT ON500-BED MILITARY HOSPITAL AFARI,KUMASI
EUROGET DE-INVEST (EDI) is the main Turnkey Contractor on the Ministry of Defence 500-bed hospital at Afari,Kumasi.Our attention was drawn to a video clip produced in Twi that is circulating on social media.We have no idea when this was done and by whom.The video commentary however has misrepresentations on the project which we wish to correct for the benefit of the good people of the country as follows;
1.The video claimed that the project was completed in 2018.This is not true.Construction is still ongoing with an overall progress at about 92% .Installation of equipment is also ongoing.The MRI equipment mentioned in the video to beexposed to weather is not even on site now.
2.The items shown in the video include medical gas cylinders .These are stored under a shed which is an appropriate location for cylinders.
3.Extractor Fans and Air Handling Units (AHU) that are neatly covered with polythene sheets were shown in the video as medical equipment left to rot in the open.The sheets were removed to capture these items in the video.Again,it should be clarified that extractor fans and air handling units are outdoor items and were properly stored.
4.No medical equipment has been exposed to weather .
The video clip should therefore be ignored in its entirety.We thank you for your patience and understanding.
