As part of measures to clampdown armed robbers and other criminal activities in the Amansie central in the Ashanti region, the acting District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area,Hon.Nana Kwame Asamoah Boateng, has officially cut sod for the construction of District police headquarters at Jacobu,the district capital.
Hon.Asamoah Boateng who is popular known in the political space as Asabee was supported by Nana Bona II,the representative of Jacobuhene,Mr.Atta Mensah,the District Coordinating Director (DCD) as well as Chief Supt.Iddrisu Abdullai,the Jacobu district polite commander for the short sod cutting ceremony.
The DCE said due to the urgent need of the of police headquarters, the government has made all the necessary funds for the project available to enable the Contractor complete the project in six month time.
He therefore urged the contractor to work within the specifications of the design while calling for the support of all stakeholders to enable the contractor to complete the project as planned.
Hon.Nana Kwame Asamoah said the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by Nana Akufo-Addo was very committed to provision of adequate security for all citizens in order to go about their businesses without fear.
According to him, apart from the district police headquarters, the Assembly and government have done some many things including resourcing the district police command, construction of various posts among other things.
He said to enhance Justice and security of the people of Amansie Central, they are currently constructing District Court which is now at a roofing level. Aside that,the bungalow for the District Magistrate is almost completed.
Hon.Asabee was full of praised to the District Police Commander and his men for their hard work and commitment which has seen drastic reduction of rampant armed robbery and other criminal activities in the area. He challenged them not to relent in their efforts and assured them that, the Assembly and the government would continue to give them the necessary support in their operations. Hon.Asamoah Boateng also disclosed that the Assembly has begun the process to construct a lorry park at Afoako near Jacobu to also improve transport business in the area and called for the continue support of the people towards government’s developmental agenda.
The DCE commended Nananom for the released of land for the district police headquarters among other projects in the District.
On his part,Chief Supt.Iddrisu Abdullai ,Jacobu District Police Commander who couldn’t hide his enjoy also praised the DCE for his lobbying skills that has seen the official commences of their long time request for District Police headquarters. He was confident that the project when completed would go a long way to facilitate their operations in the district so as to maintain the stable peace in the area.He gave assurance that they would continue to give out their best to ensure crime-fee in the district while calling for the continue support and collaboration of all stakeholders.
The Nana Bona II, representative of Jacobuhene and the Presiding Member(PM) for Amansie Central Assembly,Hon.Isaac Osei Duah who led a section of the Assembly members to witness the sod cutting both commended the DCE and Nana Akufo-Addo government for the commences of District Police Headquarters they have been yearning for years now.They promised to give the contractor the necessary support to complete the project on time.The Contractor, Cephil Company Ltd promised to execute the project within specifications and on time .
