Kindly be informed that effective February 1, 2021, customers will be required to present a valid national ID card (I.e.Ghana Card, passport, voter’s, driver’s license etc.) when performing any MoMo transaction at a MoMo agent point.

Also, please note that ID number and Id type has been included in the process flow for cash-out transactions. Thus, when an agent is performing a cash-out for a subscriber, the agent is required to select the ID type and enter the ID number of the ID card the subscriber provides.

This new update will also take effect on February 1.

“The above message on MoMo is true and it will be required for only cash out transactions. However, it would be implemented from the second quarter of this year in order to make room for adequate customer engagements prior to its implementation. Thanks”
