Hon.Michael Awuku Amoah, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Atwima Nwabiagya in the Ashanti region, has performed an officially grounding breaking ceremony for the construction of ginger factory at Gyankobaa near Toase under One District, One Factory (1D1F) flagship policy of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The MCE showers praises on NPP Government led by Nana Akufo-Addo for his good vision towards empowerment of the unemployed youth in the country.
According to him, Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality alone has benefited four (4) factories under 1 D 1 F which is geared towards industrialization agenda of the government.
Hon.Awuku Amoah disclosed this during a short but colorful ceremony at Gyankobaa to cut sod for the construction of ginger factory to help boost production.
On his part,Gyankobaahene, Atwima Bofo Kwa Boakye Dankwah who doubles as Otumfou Kwansentuohene made a passionate appeal to NPP government to provide financial support to the farmers who are basically youth to expand their ginger production in order to meet production capacity of 1D F project at Gyankobaa.
According to the Chief, Gyankobaa is the leading producer of ginger in Ghana and it’s capital intensive too it was therefore the need for government to provide the farmers with financial assistance.
He was with a strong believed that when completed, the ginger factory and special financial support to the farmers who are merely youth would go a long way to reduce unemployment rate in the area drastically.
Hon .Emmanuel Agyei Anhwere,Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency also encouraged the farmers to produce the ginger in large quantities to feed the factory.
The MP also appealed to Nananom to release more lands for the farmers to feed the ginger factory
