The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality in the Ashanti region,Hon.Michael Awuku Amoah has commended the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) government led by Nana Akufo-Addo for the unprecedented development projects they have embarked on so far.

According to him,the achievement of the President Akufo-Addo and his administration since assumption of power in 2017 is far better than the eight (8) years performance of their predecessors.

”I am most grateful to His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP government for the development the people of Atwima Nwabiagya has so far benefited from his administration even though, more of such projects are yet to come.

I wish to also express my gratitude to my MP,hon.Benjamin Anwhere,staff of the assembly ,nananom ,assembly members and the good people of the Municipality for their unflinching support”, he added.

Hon.Awuku Amoah stated this after, a marathon site inspection of physical projects in the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal Assembly together with the engineers, consultants and key staff of the Assembly, media practitioners as well as contractors of the various projects.

The MCE said he was highly impressed about the progress of work of the various contractors because they were all behind scheduled of the completion dates.

”You are all witness to the quality of work the various contractors were doing when we all visited the various sites for inspection of the projects.

I must say that I am grateful to the contractors for their commitment as well as the good supervision of the engineers as well as the consultants of the Assembly.

This is the way we should all go by seeing to it that the right thing is always done in order to ensure judicious use of the tax payers money for the benefit of all”, he noted.

On his part,Mr.Richard Atta Yawson,the Municipal works engineer also added his voice to the commendation of the good work done by the various contractors.

He said they have vowed to instill discipline in the award and execution of contracts to ensure valued for money and that is exactly what they witnessed during their routine inspection of the various projects.

Mr.Yawson said plans were far advanced to pay the contractors to enable them complete projects and they were hopeful that by the end of the year over 80 % of the over 30 ongoing projects would have been completed in the area.

He encouraged the contractors not to be complacency but endeavour to ensure that they meet the scheduled dates especially the school projects since the students will be reporting back to school next month.

Among the projects inspected include; construction of 20 seater type B toilet at Amankyia which is about 60% complete, renovation of 4-unit classroom block at Amankyia,6 –unit class room block at Kobeng which is expected to be completed in 3 months’ time, completion of a modern K-G block at Seidi community at the cost of over Ghc 250,000.Other projects inspected are; construction of 20 seater type toilet at Nkawie-Kuma ,Nkawie Panin,wioso,Seidi,Gyankobaa,NkawieApinto,Kobeng,Nkawie,Whenchi,Mim,Maakro,Agogo,Sepaase,Sepaase old town communities respectively.

The team also inspected construction of 1no.3-unit classroom block at Nkawkom, a similar one at Kyereyease awarded to M/S K.Zorro Company Ltd which is all about 70 % completed.

The three-unit classroom block at Wioso financed by Ministry of Special Initiative under Middle Belt Development Authority was also progressing steadily during the visit to site.

At the site for the construction of 1no.6-unit Flats bungalow for Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal staff at Toase which was abandoned for the past 20 years, only for the current administration to continue the projects financed by Internal Generated Fund(IGF) is almost completed.

Hon.Amoah said the bungalow would have been handed over to the staff by now by due to some challenges they had with the release of certain deductions but they would have to consider supporting the project with their shared of the Common Fund to complete the project fully.

The project has left with fixing of doors, painting and tiling.

Apart from that,Atwima Nwabiagya MCE and his entourage also inspected construction of 1 No.18-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Abuakwa meant for Community Day Senior High School, construction of ultra-modern police station block at Abuakwa which is also completed, construction of 1No 3 unit classroom block at Manhyia.Others include construction of 1no.3-unit classroom block at Kokobeng,a similar one at Barekese and Amadum-Adankwaame.

Hon.Michale Awuku Amoah and his team also inspected construction of 1no.CHPS Compound with staff quarters at Asankraka which is also about 65% completed.Story by Isaac Amoah
