NHYIAESO MP BIDS FAREWELL TO OWASS HEAD MASTER,DR.ALEXIS FRIMPONG-NIMOH

A Send-Off Ceremony has been held for the outgoing Headmaster of Opoku Ware School (OWASS). The Headmaster, Dr. Alexis Frimpong-Nimoh, the 9th Headmaster of the school was born on 21st July, 1959 and has been heading the school for four years (2015 – 2019). He will be retiring from his career as the Headmaster of Opoku Ware School after succeeding former Headmaster, Mr. F. M. Oppong-Mensah (2010 – 2015)*

The Send-Off ceremony was held at OWASS New Assembly Hall and where he was presented with a number of Citations from CHASS, Akatakyie Old Boys, Agass Old Students, Kumasi High School Old Boys, Opoku Ware School, SRC and others for his meritorious work. At the Send-Off ceremony held in his Honour, the Otumfuo Manwerehene, Baffour Osei Brentuo Hyiaman V, asked that the outgoing Headmaster would not relent on his effort but must strive to continuing leading a good example for posterity even after 60 years.

Hon. Kennedy Kwasi Kankam, MP for Nhyiaeso also expressed appreciation to the outgoing Headmaster for how he handle all who came to him for assistance in one way or another. He added, how demanding it takes to handle the suppossed Grade ‘A’ Schools and as a matter of fact affirmed the need to commend Dr. Alexis Frimpong-Nimoh for the good job done.

He trusted in God and emphasized on numerous challenges he encountered during his assumption of office. This was at the time that the school had undergone serious turmoil and the staff was polarized. He added, how a section of the Old Boys who did not understand why a non – Katakyie should be Headmaster and as a result levelled spurious allegations againt him to the then Director of Education, Mr. Jacob Kor to nullify his appointment.

The outgoing Headmaster was proud and glad for the modest gains and successes chalked during during his tenure and expressed his sincerest appreciation to His Grace Gabriel Anokye, the Very Rev. Louis Tuffour, Mrs. Mary Owusu Achiaw, GES, PTA, Old Boys, Chaplaincy, teaching and non-teaching staff, his family and students of the school, colleague Headmasters and Nananom for their immense support. He added that though he is retiring but that doesnt guarantee him to relent on his efforts to support the help the Opoku Ware School or take up new challenge.
